• What is discreet mode?
  

  Discreet mode allows only your friends to see your media (pictures / videos).

• How do I set my profile to discreet?
  

  To change your profile to discreet mode, got to My profile and check Discreet.

• What is hotlist?
  

  Hotlist is a feature similar to a bookmark. When you browse someone's profile that you are interested in, you can add him/her to your Hotlist. Your Hotlist will let you track and access them. When browsing the site you will see a star icon next to the username of someone in your Hotlist. Note that a Hotlist is not shared with others; the user you added on your Hotlist won't be notified.

• What are friends?
  

  SexInYourCity allows you to have reciprocal friends. Contrary to hotlist, friends are mutual. To become friends with someone, you will need to send a request to this person. After approval you will see the person in your friends list. Friends always have access to your profile, even when set to discreet.

• How can I add someone to my friend's list?
  

  When viewing someone's profile, you can request to become friends. A message will be sent to that person. Once the request is accepted, you will see the person in your friends list.

• What is Compatibility and Matchometer?
  

  The Matchometer will give you a percentage on how compatible you are with the profile you are looking it. It is based on your own compatibility settings and on the person's you are viewing.

• What does Sex Appeal mean?
  

  Sex Appeal is a rating system. It's self explanatory, the hotter you are the better it is. Sex Appeal also affects your overall ranking (refer to ranking for more information).

• What is "The Wall"?
  

  The Wall is a space on every user's profile page that allows other user's to post messages for the user to see. At any time you can delete someone's post on your own wall. Simply click delete.

Search

• How do I find members in my city?

  When searching you can choose a city and the radius for your search. This will let you find any interested members that are located within the selected radius.

Upgrade

• What can I do as a Free Member?

  A free member can search / browse the site. A free member cannot write on member's walls, write comments, become featured or send personal messages.

• What can I do as an Upgraded Member?

  An upgraded member has full access on the site. He/She can send unlimited personal messages, post comments, write on member's wall, become featured and much more...

• How can I upgrade my membership?

• How can I report spam / abuse?

  If you receive spam or abuse from a member, you can report him/her on the report page.

Other

• How do I know if the members on this site are fake?

  SIYC constantly monitors the site for any suspect profiles. We take this problem very seriously and do everything we can to keep the site fun and safe. Obviously we can not run background checks on every member.
  
  Legitimate profiles will not ask for any type of commercial transaction as a condition to meet. We recommend never giving out money or personal information to someone you meet on line.
  
  Any suspicious activity should be reported to us immediately.

• Why aren't I getting any responses?

  Your profile is the first impression that other members will have of you. Think about what you want your profile to say about you. Make sure to keep it fun and updated. Profiles with clear pictures have a better chance of responses.

• Why do I have members of the same sex viewing me?

  If you notice any suspicious activity in your account you may want to change your password. Many people use the same password for all of their internet accounts. If you have given your password to anyone there may be a breach in your security.

• Why can't I view my messages?

  As a free member you have many features you can access such as, searching profiles and videos, posting pictures, ranking members and making friends. To view your messages simply choose a membership plan and upgrade your account.

• Why was my picture rejected?

  Because of the adult nature of SIYC, any images showing children (under 18) will immediately be denied.
